6th Form
The Sixth Form at Chiswick School is a thriving part of the school with a large degree of autonomy, but with many opportunities as a result of being within a school.
Mission Statement
- To equip Sixth Form students for employment or higher education through academic achievement.
- To foster values which encourage students to contribute positively to society.
- To provide memorable experiences for students to draw upon in the future.
Outcomes
Students achieve excellent results enjoying over 90% pass rate at A level. The school has the best "value added" performance in Hounslow Borough and is in the top 20% of institutions surveyed nationally using the A Level Performance System (ALPS).
Over 80% of students go on to Higher Education including a wide range of Universities and Arts Colleges. Many take Gap years and guidance and support is offered about this route.
Facilities
Lessons mostly take place in the same buildings as the lower school, but the Sixth Form students also have dedicated facilities of their own. There is a spacious Common Room with a snack bar serving food and drink during lunch break. There is also a quiet study area which contains resources for study and University application, and a computer suite dedicated to Sixth Form use. The students also use the excellent sports facilities available to the rest of the school.
Year Team
Each student is allocated a personal tutor who monitors their progress and is their first point of contact about any matter. They meet one-to-one mentoring interviews. The tutors are supported by the director of sixth form and deputies. All students enjoy a close relationship with these teachers and make the most of their experience and guidance.
